The primary purpose of AMSC Public Policy efforts is to prepare, promote and defend legislative efforts that support the programs and services of school counseling professionals in Michigan in their work with students, faculty, and families. A key aspect of this year’s efforts is on reducing the student to school counselor ratios in Michigan while working on the long term goal of mandated K-12 developmental guidance and counseling.
The following links are designed to assist members and supporters in their advocacy efforts on behalf of Michigan school counselors. Educating ourselves, legislators, and others to the critical importance that school counseling services impart on all students is central to our roles as professional leaders and as informed citizens.
